Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Business Analyst will initially be responsible for assisting with the transition of accounts payable transactional activities to a new vendor platform. This position will work with the vendor, assist with testing and drive change within the organization. This position will later be responsible for monitoring vendor activities, process improvements, ad hoc analysis and resolving issues with vendors and suppliers.

This position is located at our corporate office in Philadelphia, PA.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Meet all scheduled monthly financial reporting
* Collaborate with suppliers and respective internal business owners to resolve pricing and receiving discrepancies
* Monitor all invoice and accounting issues to resolve any escalated items for resolution
* Work with Accounts Payable offshore staff and evaluate production to ensure vendor issues are resolved timely
* Analyze Accounts Payable processes and recommend improvements to ultimately increase efficiency
* Assist Accounts Payable Manager in managing all internal controls related to the payables process
* Review all quarterly SOX vendor statement reconciliations and serve as subject matter expert for various accounts payable functions
* Collaborate with internal/external auditors to provide support for all quarterly/year end accounts payable selections
* Review debit balance vendor/aged item reports to identify/communicate resolutions on a regular basis to the Accounts Payable leadership team
* Prepare/review blocked invoice report and coordinate with other internal departments (accounting or treasury) for resolution/forecasting
* Review balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy of items posted in GL
* Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the AP function in accordance with records retention policies and procedures
* Review monthly outstanding checks reconciliation and work together with Accounting to ensure escheat process is completed
* Ad hoc analysis on accounts payable metrics/analytics and tasks as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Bachelor degree in Accounting is required
* Basic accounting experience is required
* Thorough knowledge of general accounts payable processes is required
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required
* Analytical experience is required
* Proficiency with SAP is a plus
* Experience with data warehouses such as Brio is a plus
* Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision
* Must be able to work in a dynamic environment
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem-solving, analytical and attention to detail skills
* Strong time management and organizational skills
