Duties & Responsibilities
 

* Supports Workers' Compensation Manager and Risk Analyst/Team Leader in all Risk Management tasks
* Monitors all employees on Workers' Compensation in the following situations and maintains associated diary reports in a timely manner:

* Out of Work
* Light / Modified Duty
* Permanent Work Restrictions
* Texas Work Injury / Non-Sub Program
* Core Workers' Compensation Injury Counselor / Data Analyst tasks:

* Acts as liaison between IAG and CorVel (adjusters & RTW Coordinator) to coordinate effective and timely return to work of our injured employees
* Compiles and provides Work Comp wage statement to CorVel adjuster on lost time claims or in instances of temporary partial duty (TPD) situations
* Provides job description to CorVel adjuster and / or nurse on all claims
* Contacts location manager and injured employee within 24-hours of all injuries where the employee is not immediately released to full duty work.

* Explains role in claim process
* Advises of CorVel contact information
* Conveys company concern and hope for speedy recovery
* Maintains regular contact with injured employee (non-litigated claims), as needed
* Informs CorVel adjuster of pertinent injury information collected from location manager, AD and/or HR representative
* Resolves claim issues raised by CorVel adjuster when it is related to issues internal to IAG
* Reviews medical work restrictions
* Continually advises location manager, AD and/or HR representative of temporary medical work restrictions and full duty work release
* Continually advised Leave Admin of Work Comp LOA -- start and stop dates
* Advised location manager, AD and/or HR when permanent medical work restrictions are given and assists with interactive process
* Maintains a timely TAW (Temporary Alternative Work) and OOW (Out of Work) diary through Enterprise system
* Manages our TAW (Temporary Alternative Work) Program

* Engages with Payroll on a weekly basis to ensure timely and correct payment of TAW wages
* Engages with injured workers on TAW weekly to confirm that light duty assignment is going well
* Secures signed TAW form from location manager / employee at start of TAW and as needed when there is intermittent TAW
* Continually updates Enterprise

* Work status
* Claim notes
* WC Coordinator diary field by setting target date for action items
* Claim attachments
* TAW status field
 
 

* Data Analyst tasks:

* Enters Work Comp claims into CorVel CareMC claim system, as needed
* Enters Work Comp incident into Enterprise system, as needed
* Supports or owns certain data metric tasks:

* Weekly RTW Status Report -- TAW (Light Duty) & OOW information
* Weekly TAW Email
* Weekly WC LOA Advisory Email -- TAW, NRTW, OOW & RTW Reports
* State Assessment Filings:

* Gathers headcount, total hours and total payroll data from HRIS for annual and quarterly State assessment filings for IAG
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 

* Workers' Compensation claims background
* Return-to-Work coordination background
* Microsoft Office -- Excel, PowerPoint and Word
* Strong organizational / project management skills
* Strong / positive interpersonal skills
* Spanish speaking is favorable but not required
 
Experience and Credentials
 

* 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
* Workers' Compensation adjuster background or AIC -- Associate in Claims designation
* 3 -- 5 years -- experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
